Our adventure stared off a wee rocky. My one gf, Darla Darby Star, had told me on Wednesday that her one friend Joseph was in the hospital and he had the voucher we required for Michael to come to the show. "Poor Joe has a herniated disk in his back and we wont know what is going on till later". Thursday morning I was having a hard time getting a hold of Darla and was starting to worry. About 1230 she calls me to tell me that she called and fixed it so all i have to do is show up at the box office and they will have the vouchers for us so, so now we didn't have to wait till she got there and it was good because the one member of her posse was not off work till 6.
Michael arrived here about 13h10 and we got into my car and headed to the Panda Queens house to drop off her b-day gift. I am greatful we did a. because she loved her gift and b. because it made it A LOT easier to get to the theatre house. We got there at 3pm, took our number and plot of real estate to sit down at, we were number 11, and sat and waited. Although some people were rude/immature what have you and did not think the rule of "your party arrives as a group or the missing members will be seated alone" so we got bumped out of the immediate splatter zone.
At 730ish they moved us all upstairs then they grouped us by number and started moving us into the Cabaret to exchange our vouchers for tickets. Before we headed in I said that if we were going to be stuck in a crappy part of the splatter zone then i'd like to be centre of the first row of seats. Low and behold where do we end up seating? that exact spot! One row forward towards the stage than when we won our tickets on facebook. We grabbed our foam chain saws (the axes kinda looked cheezy), signed the plaque (i signed it backwards and in my silver sharpee so its easier to see mine

) and we headed back out to the lobby. We got into our seats and people asked to take pictures of Jubai as Ash and my purse.
Before the show, Ben Mulroney was there to present George Reinblatt (the writer) with a plaque from the Mayor of Toronto for being the longest running Canadian(let alone Torontoian) show ever.
At intermission they had a Costume Contest. There were not as many people as i would have expected and was sad to see such young girls dressed so scantly and the fact that their parents were there and saw them dressed this way kinda disturbed me. Darla almost won, i think she should have for creativity. The winner was a girl dressed as torned dress Annie. The winner got front row centre splatter zone seats for the 1st of August and 100$ to spend at the swag booth. Everyone else got 2 free tickets to any friday or saturday night 11pm show. Darla and I plan to go as a 4some to see it.
We went back and enjoyed the 2nd part of the show. I did get blood on me this time, like really got good bloodage. The young girl to my right had a foutain splashing just to her left, and silly child wore a poncho. Jubai got a nice showering of blood (but not on his fur as i protected his face, as well as my necronomicon purse.
After the show we headed into the lobby for partying and autographs. I got George and Ryan to sign my cd, and i got the entire cast to both sign and get their picture taken with Jubai. We had to wait a few minutes to get Jubai back from Dena as she didnt seem to want to give him back lol.
The best part of the end of the night, George said to me, "you're Mélissa right? " He recongized me from my excess of postings on the Evil Dead fan site (
[link]) . Tanja Hagenberg said to me, "are you Gir? I wanted to get Nug to stop talking for a moment so I could ask who was Gir . . Well its nice to finally meet you. I wanted Nug to ask on stage Where is Gir b/c i wanted to meet you". And Kristien reallly liked Jubai as Ash (so we have decided that we have to go to build a bear again so I can build him a bear so i can make it clothing and dress it up as his character Scotty). When I was waiting to take Jubai's picture with Andrea Brown, Michael went and spoke with Chris the Director and got Steve a Foam Axe. We left about 1am.
I was so excited that the night went so well. Our drive home SUCKED! Oh by the way, you want to her a hypocrite? We saw a cop who went into an intersection when he could not complete his turn, while TEXTING ON HIS CELL PHONE. He had a partner in the passenger seat and Michael thinks he saw someone in the back. We took one wrong turn and it sent us in a whirl wind of bad directions but we ended up getting home about 230.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this night wicked awsome cool AND let me know if you're interested in coming to see Evil Dead the Musical on August 1st at 11pm splatter zone.
